Detachment 650’s Tech Log

    • Nintendo Switch
      • Recalibrated Joy-cons
        • Unmarked Joy-con on the left has stick-drift, swapped it out with the silver-marked variant.
        • I recommend that the affected Joy-Con is discarded as repairs may require soldering.
      • Connected Switch to internet and completed a system update
        • Device is registered on the account zw497925. Both Roku TV and the Switch need to reregistered eventually. If I don’t make it into FT, then 2-3 years. If I graduate, then 4 years.

    • Declaring intent for the following items:
      • To create a QR code that leads to this folder and print it out. Printing these logs is practically infeasible, as each edit would require another print– quickly piling up in terms of time and resources. It’d be better if I leave the QR in either the lounge or the Flight Sim room for others to catch up.
      • To create another resource page for more general tech issues, like registering devices to the Guest Network.
      • Game night. May consider a formal proposal to C/Whithey so it’d count as a Morale Event.

    • Nintendo Switch
      • Observed that the switch was giving proper output to the Roky TV. Additionally, it’s not the first time that the HDMI cable has suffered this from this type of defect.
      • Recommendation is to replace the HDMI cable in the future. For now, it suffices for the Switch.
      • Resolved issue by unplugging HDMI from the Switch’s dock and plugging it back in.
    • Flight Simulator
      • New issue exists, make a note to ask C/Fawcett about it.
      • Ask C/Foster about the VR headset and look into getting it operational if it’s not.
        • If the VR headset is operational, then I’ll update Flight Simulator with the relevant documentation if needed.

    • Declaring intent for the following item:
      • To create a report form for technical issues. Question is whether to limit it to Detachment devices or not.
